Washington, D.C. — Congressman Ryan Mackenzie, representing the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos in Pennsylvania's 7th Congressional District, has launched a new webpage explaining details of the government shutdown. This webpage, which will be continually updated throughout the shutdown, features important information on the impacts for government workers, servicemembers, travelers, program beneficiaries, and more.
“This partisan shutdown has real consequences for the people of the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos,” said Congressman Mackenzie. “At this time, hundreds of thousands of federal employees are furloughed, servicemembers are not being paid, and critical services are at risk of shutting down. Senate Democrats should immediately stop their posturing and join the bipartisan majority in both houses that has voted to fund the government. In the meantime, our team is working daily to provide important updates to local residents who face risks from this shutdown. While some continue to play partisan games, I remain focused on delivering the solutions and services that local residents count on. That’s why our offices remain open and will continue to provide important updates for the duration of this shutdown.”
Residents in need of assistance from one of the Congressman’s offices are encouraged to visit mackenzie.house.gov or call 484-761-6000. Those looking for updates on the shutdown should visit mackenzie.house.gov/services.
