Congressman Ryan Mackenzie Seeks Applicants for Green & Gold Congressional Aide Program
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Ryan Mackenzie, representing the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos in Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District, is seeking a qualified veteran or Gold Star Family member to serve as a full-time, paid staff member in his Lehigh County office through the Green & Gold Congressional Aide Program. This individual will work directly with constituents on veterans’ casework and serve as a key liaison between the district and federal agencies.
“The Green & Gold Program is a valuable way to incorporate the voices and perspectives of those who’ve served into the work we do for the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos,” said Congressman Mackenzie. “Our veterans and Gold Star Families represent the best of our country, and I’m proud to offer them this additional opportunity to continue serving our communities.”
The Green & Gold Congressional Aide Program was established by the U.S. House of Representatives to create employment opportunities for veterans and Gold Star Family while strengthening constituent services. The selected applicant will play an important role in helping veterans across the Greater Lehigh Valley access the benefits and resources they’ve earned.
Eligible applicants must meet the following criteria:
Veterans must have been honorably discharged, released from active duty within the last six years, and have served at or below the pay grades of E-5, O-3, or W-2. Individuals promoted to E-6, O-4, or W-3 within six months of separation may also qualify, if all other eligibility criteria are met. Retirees and those who separated under TERA are not eligible.
Gold Star Family members must be the parent, spouse, sibling, child, or stepchild of a service member who died in the line of duty or from a service-connected disability within four years of separation.
Application Deadline: January 30, 2026. Interested candidates can apply directly HERE.
